Pushing Forward: How We're Adjusting so You Don't Have To
We get it — when you finally decide to invest in a remodel, you want your dream home completed yesterday. We're always looking for ways to be more efficient and keep disruptions and delays to a minimum, and with our industry's current challenges, we've had to think outside the box more than ever. Thankfully, you can have peace of mind knowing we've adjusted our process to minimize the effect these challenges have on projects. Here's what we've done to make sure your remodel can be completed as soon as possible, without interruption:
The Old Way: Plan First, Order Later
In the past, we'd begin a project by establishing a start date first. Then we’d get all the materials ordered to arrive at the right times. While this worked fine pre-pandemic, we're now faced with supply shortages — the biggest cause of delay in any construction project. Without a predictable supply chain, it’s impossible to follow through on pre-determined completion goals.
What We Do Now: Efficient Material Planning
Now, all the cabinets, appliances, drawer pulls, countertops, and anything else needed for the project are selected and ordered. Start dates are coordinated with order delivery dates, which helps to eliminate any issues with delayed materials along the way. Of course, stockpiling materials requires extra storage space, which is why we've converted our workshop to a warehouse. This entire process is overseen and managed by our talented purchasing team.
How We Stay on Track: Purchasing Team Power
We’ve also established a dedicated purchasing team that works hard to make sure everything is running smoothly, and any issues are taken care of right away. They place and track orders, receive and inspect them when they come in, and keep detailed records of all communications between vendors. If they need to make corrections, they immediately take action, so projects can continue as planned.
