Baseview Custom Home: Helical Pliers

The site is excavated and the base is filled with gravel. The soil is full of organic material, so a traditional foundation will not work

To bear the weight of the house to appropriate soil, we need to install 36 helical piers, between 22-30 feet into the ground. The middle stack is the extensions, and to the left, are the helical piers.

These are installed just like a post hole digger, twisted into the soil until the proper pressure rating is achieved.

This is the drill.

The pier is at the start of install and will be buried another 20 plus feet.
